#11: Unexpected Planning, isn’t It?

Our problem is not about cheating or one of us doesn't have love anymore. Our biggest problem is how to reach financial stability, especially Jeff. From September 2024, I arranged a plan for my finances. How much I need to save, how much I can spend my money. I want to have a huge amount of savings at the end of 2024, then do it again for the next year.

On a night when I was arranging my financial planning in a spreadsheet, I told him about it. I let him access my spreadsheet, because he will be my future husband (maybe, Amen!). So, now we know together how much I save my income every month.

We were discussing our plan and saving. He kept saying “larger than the pole peg”. He is very different from me where I receive a regular income once a month, but he only receives income when he sells corn or gets a project from his office. He said he wants to find a way to reach financial stability. I hope so. And then, in November 2024, he got a full time job. God heard our prayer at the right time.

In the middle of our discussion, I informed him that I don’t wanna have a huge wedding party. Just an intimate dinner with our family. He also agrees. But then, suddenly, he explained more details about the wedding like which church, what’s the food for our guests, etc. And then, he also asked me where I wanna go for the honeymoon. Is it crazy? Still a long journey for us, but he already asked me for the wedding and the honeymoon.

It feels like being proposed in a subtle way. Before that night, he has told me that he wants to be married to me. Because, his goal when he has a girlfriend is to be married. He said, he can’t imagine if we didn’t meet and we can’t get married. Like he can’t live without me.

My mouth was silent. When he said that he wanted to get married with me, I couldn’t say anything. We hugged. His hug was very warm. I expressed “yes” as the answer by not letting go of his hug.

“I hope we can continue to be together like this.” He said that after many times telling me that he wants to get married with me.

“I won’t leave you. I will wait. Let’s try our best to make it happen,” I said.
